Job Description & Responsibilities:-
- As a Data Engineering Intern, you will join a team of Architects & Engineers to work on a global strategic initiative to make better use of our Reinsurance data and enhance our ability to make data driven decisions.
- You will help the team design, develop and execute complex analytic solutions that will transform the insurance industry. You will gain exposure to a project that is leveraging cutting edge technology that applies Big Data and Machine Learning to solve new and emerging problems for Swiss Re Reinsurance business.
Eligibility Criteria:-
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
Preferred Skill Set:-
- Proficient in Python and SQL. Familiarity with PySpark and Spark SQL a plus
- Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Spark/Hive/Hadoop) a plus
- Experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS a plus
- Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure a plus
- Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
- Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment
- Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the big picture
- Excellent oral and written English skills
