Your Role and Key Responsibilities
As a DevOps Engineer, your core responsibility is to enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate, streamline, and secure infrastructure deployments.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to manage and provision cloud infrastructure.
- Administer and optimize automated CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Travis CI, and Razee to streamline development and testing workflows.
- Ensure the compliance, security, and integrity of development and production environments.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and program teams to set up real-time monitoring and alerting systems for mission-critical services.
- Support and enhance cloud-native services related to compute, storage, and networking infrastructure.
- Develop and document REST APIs, support backend services, and assist in debugging infrastructure-related issues.
Educational Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Preferred: Same as above with relevant cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, etc.)
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 1–2 years of experience in cloud application development using Go Lang, Python, and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix-like OS administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, CoreOS) and scripting using Bash/Shell.
- Experience with system tools such as
systemctl,journalctl, and package managers likeyumandapt-get. - Hands-on experience with container technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with version control tools like Git/GitHub and pipeline automation tools.
- Strong understanding of the DevOps lifecycle, CI/CD practices, and end-to-end deployment strategies.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, protocols, and basic network development.
- Exposure to cloud-native security, container vulnerability scanning, and best practices in secure DevOps.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues efficiently.
